A project on the information about human rights and their universal defence meant for all orders of society has already been prepared.

"Principal Liberties"

With the help of the project “Principal Liberties”, it is sought to educate the society about their civil, political, economical, social, cultural rights as well as the possible ways of their protection. It is sought to assure the protection of rights and liberties of the residents within the Republic of Lithuania, irrespective of their origin, sex, race, age, social position or religion. Herewith, the influence upon the Government of the Republic of Lithuania as well as its legal system will be made, seeking to pay attention to the right performance of Lithuanian Republic and International laws.

Main fields of activity:
1. Support and information, concerning rights as well as social guarantees, rendering to the residents of the Republic of Lithuania.
2. Children, youth and rejected groups education in every possible way.
3. Development of social skills of children, youth and rejected groups.
4. Inducement of youth civil activity and organizations’ potential development.
5. Educational help rendering to all social groups in the system of informal education.
6. Assuring the possibilities of life-duration training to all social groups, creating the sterling knowledge and informational society.
7. Directing the exceptional efforts to marginal groups of the Republic of Lithuania.
8. Inducement of re-socialization and re -integration of rejected groups.
9. Inducement of social capital development and accumulation.
10. Inducement of development of communities as groups, which protect their interests as well as rights.
11. Inducement of social as well as state institutions cooperation and social responsibilities development.
12. Improvement of society’s ability to create and support the constructive dialogue with non-governmental and public institutions as well as with the Government itself.

The duration of the project is not determined, because the duration effect is probable. Project will be continued and it will not lose its purpose (mission) as well as impact effect. OPHRSGL has prepared a project which is devoted to the education of convicts and their social reintegration after their leave the places of imprisonment.

The Center of Support for theConvicts Returning to Freedom

The goal of this project is to help convicts to re-integrate into society after leaving the places of imprisonment and to provide them with competent legal assistance and necessary information.

Main fields of activities:
a) organizing the meeting of convicts at the places of imprisonment;
b) providing convicts with information about the possible places of residence, feeding and changes in the work market as well as its requirements;
c) providing convicts with social support ( clothes, foot-wear and supplies of personal hygiene);
d) giving convicts necessary legal advice.

We are planning to establish support centers for the convicts returning to freedom in all those districts of the Republic of Lithuania which have prisons. We also want to publish and distribute an informative booklet which would contain necessary information as well as the answers to the most common questions.
